Season update

Our spring season has been very good bass fishing has been great our crappie has been lacking because the bass fishing has been so good that we haven't spent the time fishing for much else.I do need to talk about one thing and that is catch and release we catch a lot of bass and release all of them back we do not keep them in our opinion it is wrong to keep bass we do occasionally keep catfish and crappie as well as large perch ,to eat but the bass are all about the fun and it is great fun to catch them.We had some people get mad the other evening when we through back 2 bass one around 4.5lbs and another 3.5lbs they thought that if we didnt't want them we should have let them have them we had already let them have 7 large shell crackers.

In an earlier post we posted some pictures of one of our favorite fishing holes this spring TVA doing what we are told was protecting them self's from liability has almost destroyed it they tore down the pump station in which would have been fine by its self and that would have taken care of the liability issue but they didn't just stop there they had the levy cut and dumped most of this slue into the Tenn. river making this a big mud puddle instead of the nice lake that it was you can still fish this but it has been permanently damaged for the fisherman and the duck hunters both, the low water levels that the tn. river is being held at keeps very little water in this old slue and has really hurt it.
I could be wrong on my oppinion and this may actually help this fishery but at this time it don't look like it is helping it it looks like it has destroyed it
Please look these pics over and share this article with as many as you can give us feed back on what you think these pics are of as close to the same places as we could possibly get we didn't know they were going to do this until it was done or we would have gotten pics better and maybe enough publicity at the time might have helped

Its almost spring

Spring is almost here the crappy and have been biting like crazy. We haven't got to go yet but will soon, the wind and rain has kept us off the water. But the weather will break soon and we will be out there trying to catch our share.
The crappie have been biting on Jiggs running about 4 to 6 feet deep. I haven't talked to anyone using live bait but the crappie are running in the channels and not in the bushes.
The catfish are biting also I do not know what they are using for bait but the numbers and size have been good so far. Hope fully within the next few days we will get to go and I will know more. With maybe another fish story to tell you know there's always the one that gets away, and we all know a good fisherman would never talk about that.
In the meantime before season is going good this would be a great time to think about your rods, getting it ready early and save time and give you more time on the water. If you just toss your rods in the corner maybe you need a rack to store them on check out our website www.fishing pole racks.com for the custom rack that your rods need to protect and store them in.
