Our teminolgy, our sites,fishing

A lot of what I will be talking about on here may be called different you have to remember I am in the south and we don't always say things or even call things what you do but through all of this I do hope sometime I will make since and get you to understand what I am talking about. we love to fish and have a great time on the river we will fish for any thing that swims we are not crazy about winter fishing so cant talk to you much about souger fishing although very good to eat I cant hardly get out there when ice is freezing to the line .
By know some of you  probably has noticed I have a link to a web site on some of my posts yes we own a website fishingpoleracks.com it is relatively new online like me at blogging , but we have some great products and some of the best suppliers you can find our prices are reasonable and we would appreciate a visit at any time . This web site also has a blog site http://fishingpoleracks.wordpress.com/ in which we are trying to help you understand the benefits and uses of our racks .I have noticed that a lot of my views are coming from Canada I don't believe that we are shipping to Canada but if you want a rod rack we will find a shipping method we are still learning out of country and overseas shipping .
Our water here is full of summer time boaters and its hard to do any real good fishing in the main river from memorial day through labor day but after this weekend the water is ours again all the water skiers and jet skiers are pretty much gone ,we got so most of our cat fishing was at night and the boaters could have the day and the hot sun,and found we caught  more and it was peace full out there.

Cat fish

Our are has some of the best catfish that I have found anywhere these fish are a cool and for the most part a scavenger, although not all cat fish are scavengers some do prefer live prey and those are my favorite we like to refer to them as flat head or in some instances yellow cats but here another exception a yellow cat does not have to be yellow although most are, there is a mud cat is what I call them which are black in appearance one type of these has a yellow stripe up his side he is a yellow  and is good the mud cat and chug head you don't want ,trust me you don't want these.flat heads or yellow can get huge and are aggressive like a bass.
White cat and channel cat get large as well but normally are not as aggressive all of these are opportunity feeders and eat when they find what looks good to them some of the bait used to catch these can turn the stomach of a  buzzard I mean it can be rough but trust me if you hang into your first 15 pounder the bait and the smell it all becomes worth it .Not all baits are that bad though you can use a verity of worms ,smaller fish, mussel meat ,at times even Ivory soap in bar form so see they aren't that picky .
The time of year helps determine how deep and the temp. it get quite hot here in the summer and they go deep and up against rock bluffs in the cool ,in cooler they can move into shallower water where the flat heads feed on smaller fish . there is no great mystery about these fish the only thing that stops you from catching them is not putting your line in the water so grab your pole and give it a try and even if they don't bite you had a great time.http://www.fishingpoleracks.com

Bass

My all time favorite is to worm fish if all I had to do is bass fish and had endless supply of rubber bait i would be really happy I prefer to run my worms Texas style and on a slow retrieval and the more structure the better . I have been know to fish grass beds in the same manner my patients are usually rewarded by something and as most of us that bass fish will tell you it don't take a big fish to make that heart to pound ,these fish in the spring and summer can be super aggressive and even the small ones can make you think you've caught a whale .
In water that is a little more open I like to pull crank baits and these can really pay off but i have found that a brand new bait don't always catch. I had bought a shiny silver rattle trap to replace one that i had lost and I fished that thing half the day and didn't get a hit at all i was about to change it but i wanted to use it along the side of a pump station first because my other one would usually pay of there , these are large concrete buildings in the watter and i was casting right against the building with it and I hit the concrete several times and scathed the side of my new trap was all upset that i had made these miss casts and cat out away from the building and that bait caught the rest of the day it was unreal brand new and shiny no luck scratched it caught like crazy I am not saying to by a new bait an trash it out and expect it to catch but natural fish in the water are not all new and shiny they have imperfections and the bass know this they are very smart and the more we fish for them them more educated they get.
